Long Exposure of Memory - Photographic Exhibition by Heather Petty

In the solitude of South Australia's Eyre Peninsula, I find myself drawn repeatedly to six abandoned buildings near my birthplace of Wudinna. For seven years, these structures have been my silent collaborators in an intimate dance between past and present, memory and decay, light and shadow.

These buildings owned by people I know, hold stories in their bones—stories that whisper through broken windowpanes and echo in empty rooms. With my camera as witness, I document the remains of lives once lived: personal artefacts frozen in time, dust-covered remnants of intimate moments, abandoned dreams crystallized in the harsh outback light. Each photograph becomes a portal, bridging the temporal gap between what was and what remains.
